Just let that sink in. Side note I want to play with this lift really badly. More a bout the Promaster f rom wiki “ Saltillo Truck Assembly, Saltillo , Coahuila , Mexico . The plant manufactures the full range of the Ram truck series as well as the DX Chassis cab and ProMaster van. The plant has won numerous awards and has been recognized as the Chrysler groups best truck facility in terms of build quality.”

Highly-awarded Chrysler build quality is still Chrysler build quality.

“ Chrysler groups best truck facility”

Quite the high bar there.

*except for yours

Have you had any transmission problems? I mean, besides all the other stuff that’s gone wrong? I’ve done 34k in mine since I got it new at the end of February and it’s been trouble-free so far (knock on IKEA pressboard), but the transmission makes me think it’s going to be a trouble spot. It behaves oddly sometimes.

Well I don’t really know about new Chrysler products, I do have a 1952, have to to say it’s pretty solid haha. I used a cray lift like that but it went up like four booms and fit through a double door folded up. I used this the last few days on a show. We has two 60' ers, one a diesel and the other electric, I had new used an electric 60 before, didn’t know they had them.

Okay, but is the Promaster any good as a vehicle, in your opinion? What do you think of the one that you drive?

I bet that thing’s pretty wiggly when it’s 60 feet up in the air.

It behaves oddly sometimes.

I bet that could well be a software or firmware or other programming issue.

To get to the top of that wall, which is 59 feet, we do jib all the way up and extend. They are pretty good, they sway if you adjust to I usually keep my hand against the wall and dampen it. The new ones are better, get an old one and it’s janky.

That contraption looks like janky defined. It would take me a long time to keep from panicking all the time. I’m paranoid about heights generally...

I use an 80 a lot, they are actually very solid, drives like a tank. I have to take these back to the ramp for pickup and I go around the block on the city street. Nobody fucks with me!

But your post makes me realize that I am going to miss the Crunchyroll Expo 2018, though now that I am aware of it, and see what it is, I’ll probably be okay.

It’s possible. The best way I could describe it is that it can’t decide which gear it wants to shift into, then realizes it’s taking too long to decide and it needs to make up its mind and then bang. It’s not a hard bang, just feels awkward. It’s mostly on downshifts, like when I  have to pass someone.

Part of that could also be engine management. General confusion on the part of the onboard computer.

I should check with the dealer and see if there are any tsb's or updates. It doesn't happen all the time, but it happens enough.

Your explanation of the transmission is pretty much spot-on for mine. The only thing I’ll add is that it will rev itself to the Moon going down a hill trying to slow itself down using the engine.

I like the way it uses engine braking down hills. It's great for mountain driving. I have to go over the Continental Divide often and it's a big help.

Best “ Build Quality” Promaster seems similar to the prize for “best cooked canned dog food”......
